Gordon Flynn's Obituary
Gordon A. Flynn, age 76 of North Ridgeville, died Thursday March 26, 2009 at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Flynn was born in Crossville, TN, and had lived in North Ridgeville for forty-four years, moving from Elyria. He retired in 1992 from the OH Turnpike commission following twenty years service as a supervisor of road maintenance. Prior to that he had been employed for twenty-three years as a welder for Fruehauf Trailer Manufacturing Co. He was a US Army Veteran, and life member of the Elyria VFW Post 1079. He was also a member of the Elyria Masonic Lodge 787 and the Elyria Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and attending his grandson's sporting events.
Surviving is his wife of forty-three years, Estella (nee Smith); daughter, Ronda Flynn (Matt) of Willard; grandson, Jordan Lee Smith; granddaughter, Savanna Smith; and sister and brother, Sue True and Robert Webb, both of Crossville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Flynn and Hettie Webb.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, with Masonic services taking place at 7:30PM. Further visitation, services and burial will take place in Crossville. In lieu of flowers, donations have been suggested to the Ireland Cancer Center, 41201 Schaden Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
