Gordon Robert Benedict's Obituary
Gordon Robert Benedict, age 78, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic in Avon.
He was born in Toledo and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 2004, moving from Cleveland.
Gordon served in the US Army from 1958-1960 as a cook for over 450 troops at the Ft. Knox Basic Training camp.
He had a passion for cooking that was enjoyed by family and friends. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and playing on a company softball league as a catcher. He was also quite active at the North Ridgeville Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta and daughter, Robin (Richard) Ward of North Ridgeville; two granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Westcott aka Della Benedict; brothers, Bruce and Donald William Benedict; parents, Robert and Frances Benedict.
Services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gordon’s memory to the North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults, 7327 Avon Belden Rd., North Ridgeville, 44039.
Arrangements were handled by the Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville.
