Gorden E. Goodman's Obituary
Gorden E. Goodman, 76, a resident of North Ridgeville for more than 40 years, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at St. John's Medical Center, Westlake, following a brief illness. He was born May 8, 1937 in Parsons, TN to the late William and Louzetty (nee Miller) Goodman. He married Linda M. Alferink on December 20, 1958 and she preceded him in death on December 16, 2010. Ten siblings also preceded him in death.
Gorden retired from the former Standard Products in Cleveland after more than 40 years of employment. He was an avid golfer and devoted fan of the Indians and Browns. Gorden was family-oriented, caring and loved to brag about his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his outgoing, charming personality and as a true gentleman.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Debbie (John) Cahill of Hudson, Cindy Wenneman of Wadsworth and Gorden (Mary) Goodman of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Megan (Nick Greco) Quimper, Joey and Sean Cahill, Brett (Miranda), Jason and Luke Wenneman, Gorden Jr., Zachary and Jacob Goodman; great grandchildren, Xavier and Shyann; and siblings, Ann Haggard, Bill (Mary), and Gilbert Goodman, all of Parsons, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where funeral services to celebrate Gorden's life will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2013. The Rev. Chuck Behrens will preside with committal rites and burial to follow at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
