Glenn E. "Ed" Ellison Sr.'s Obituary
Glenn E. “Ed” Ellison Sr., age 68, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 7, 1956 in Logan, West Virginia and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 7 years, moving from Cleveland. He was a very active member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Cleveland. He was a man of great faith, and as in all areas of his life, he developed great and lasting friendships with his fellow parishioners there. Ed worked as a carpenter, both self employed and for Hastings Home Builders in Cleveland. He was never far away from his work, as he was the family handyman and could always find a way to fix anything. In his retirement, he delivered parts for O’Reilly Auto parts, which he truly enjoyed.
In his free time, Ed loved fishing, and going on long drives. One of his favorite excursions to spend time with his wife Eleanor was driving to the Marblehead Lighthouse. A true family man, his greatest joy was found in spending time with “Papaw’s Posse”, and he delighted in attending their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eleanor (nee Volanti); son Glenn Edward “Eddie” (Heather) Ellison Jr. of North Ridgeville; daughter Stacey (Brian) Fitzwater of Sheffield Lake; Papaw’s Posse Anastasia, Jason, Brianna, Emmalynn and Jeremiah; brothers Clark (Syrethia) Ellison, Rick Ellison and Ray (Brenda) Ellison; sister-in-law Stacia Ellison; brother-in-law Al Zakucia; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Clifford and Martha Marie (nee Harmon) Ellison; brothers Jim (Kay) Ellison, Paul Ellison and Mark Ellison; sister Crickett Zakucia.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville on Tuesday, March 5 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Funeral Service Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Dale Channell will officiate.
