Glenn W Dills Jr.'s Obituary
Glenn W. Dills Jr., age 92, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Footedale, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1961.
Glenn served in the US Coast Guard during WWII with the Merchant Marines from 1943-1944 and then with the US Army in the European Theater from 1944-1946. He also served in the US Navy from 1950-1954.
He worked as an Industrial Engineer for US Steel in Lorain for 43 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville and the VFW Avon Post 7035.
He was very artistic, enjoying photography and painting with acrylics on canvas. Glenn was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Loretta (nee Hitchens); daughter, Brenda Dills of North Ridgeville; sons, Glenn Allen (Frank Bihari) of Cleveland, Paul David (Robin Aldrich) of North Ridgeville; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Kreason of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Christopher and Gregory Dills; parents, Glenn W. and Ethel (nee Donges) Dils Sr.; brothers, Earl and Richard Dills.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday at 2:30PM at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd. in Avon. Fr. Bob Franco will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9871.
