Gertrude Kukla Columbia's Obituary
Gertrude Marie Kukla (nee Mullen), age 86 of Columbia Station, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at her home following a long illness.
She was born August 11, 1918 in Cleveland. She had resided in Columbia Station the past 49 years.
She was a member of Mary Catholic Church, Berea, and the Kiwanas Club of Columbia Station. Mrs. Kukla enjoyed bowling and flower gardening..
She worked as a office manager for John Hancock Insurance Company, Parma for many years and retired in 1981.
Surviving are brother, James J. Mullen of Avon; her care givers great-nephew and great-niece Dale and Amy Diederich; Nieces, Jeanne Esch of Elyria, Mary Taylor of Lagrange, Nancy Fishburn of Avon Lake, Barbara Roth, of Falls Church, VA; Patricia Ann Gilgenbach, of Madisonville, TN; Nephews, Ralph Mullen of Lagrange, Dennis Mullen of Avon Lake, Richard Mullen of Lakewood and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Joseph in 1964; Parents, James and Gertrude (nee Burdack) Mullen, sisters, Ruth Mullen and Irene Marchak and brother Ralph Mullen.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road,North Ridgeville, OH; where prayers will be said at 9:15 AM on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at
St. Mary Catholic Church, 250 Kraft Street, Berea. Reverend John Retar, associate pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Brookpark.
