Gertrude Callahan's Obituary
Gertrude S. Callahan (nee Cumber), age 90, of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at North Ridge Health Center, North Ridgeville.
She was born in Brussels, Wisconsin and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1955 moving from Cleveland.
Gertrude worked for A&P Tea Company in Maple Hts. for 30 years retiring in 1979.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Religious Education Teacher and was involved with the Alter Rosary Society. She was also a member of Legion of Mary, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 9871, N. Ridgeville, N. Ridgeville Senior Center and Lorain County Craft Club.
Survivors include her son, Harvey (Beverly) of Medina; grandchildren, Douglas (Therese) Callahan and Jeanne (Louis) Cozza all of Broadview Hts.; great-grandchildren, Grant, Drew, Emma and Tess all of Broadview Hts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; brothers, John, Daniel, Joseph, Harvey and Harris Cumber; sisters, Ann Goodlet, Rita Cumber; parents, Joseph and Henriette Cumber (nee Wery).
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
