Gerald T. "Jerry" Tesar's Obituary
Gerald T. “Jerry” Tesar, age 78, of Elyria, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 4 ½ years moving from Deltona, Florida. Previously, he lived most of his life in the Strongsville and Cleveland areas.
Jerry served in the US Navy.
He worked as a Detective with the Cleveland Police Department retiring in 1993 after 26 1/2 years of service.
He was a member of FOP Lodge 8, Cleveland, CPPA, Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association, NRA and volunteered with the Auxiliary of Orange City Florida Police Department.
He enjoyed riding his Honda and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Diana (nee Leinweber); daughter, Sherry (John) Lupica of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Nathan (Stephanie) Lupica, Joshua (Megan) Lupica, Katie (Ian) Coughlin; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jacob, Emma, Savannah, Olivia, Elsie and Anthony; brother, William (Patricia) Tesar of Northfield, Timothy Tesar of Eastlake; sisters, Carol Pongonis of Medina, Margaret (John) Mintus of The Villages, Florida, Tesie (Ron) Reichwein of Macedonia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sadie (nee Kreeger) Tesar and brother, Dennis Tesar.
Services will be private.
