Gerald E. Smith's Obituary
Gerald E. Smith, age 83, of North Ridgeville passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday November 1, 2023.
He was born in Ashland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville the past 78 years.
An Electrician by trade, he worked for Ford Motor Company for 37 years retiring in 2000 from the Brook Park Engine Plant. He was a member of IBEW Local 1377.
He enjoyed traveling with his family in their RV, having visited 49 of the 50 states. He enjoyed working with his hands and had built 3 homes for his family. He enjoyed the great outdoors, snowmobiling, and riding dirt bikes with his boys.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann (nee Antus), 3 sons, Dean of North Ridgeville, Brett (Kathleen) of North Ridgeville and Scott “Stacey” (Mindy) Smith of Trinity, Florida, 5 grandchildren, Christine, Melanie, Steven, Bailee and Camern, 1 great grandson, Myles, 3 sisters, Karen Hattisen of Florida, Joyce (Jeff) Ericson of TX and Susan Morris of FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil L. and Florence G. (nee Rodgers) Smith.
A Celebration of Gerald’s Life will be held at a later date.
