Gerald Morris' Obituary
Gerald R. Morris, 79 of North Ridgeville died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at St. John Medical Center, Westlake following a brief illness. He was born October 9, 1930 in Cleveland, OH. He attended school in Penfield Twp. and lived in Elyria before moving to North Ridgeville in 1959. He was employed by Lear Siegler in Elyria for 47 years. Later he worked at Western Enterprises in Westlake. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of North Ridgeville City Council from 1970-1978 and served as ward councilman, council-at-large and as Council President. He was a member of Elyria VFW Post 1079, Elyria Moose, Korean War Veterans, United Polish Club and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dollie (nee Lotz), daughters, Marilyn (Robert) Waltz and Deborah Ruggles both of Elyria, son, Lawrence Morris of North Ridgeville, two grandchildren, Jillian (Brandon) White and Steven Ruggles and two great grandchildren, Hailey and Miley White. He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Olive and Lawrence Betts. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where friends may call beginning at 12 Noon.
