Gerald "Jerry" J. Biltz Sr's Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” J. Biltz Sr., age 82, of Avon, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.
He was born on February 29, 1940 in Lakewood and has been a resident of Avon since 1962, moving from Westlake. He worked as a machine operator and set up man at Automatic Stamp in Cleveland, retiring in 2002 after 20 years of service. He was also a Little League baseball coach and Vice President and Treasurer of the Senior League in the 1970’s.
Jerry loved the great outdoors and was happiest when he was outside. He also enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, playing cards and bowling. The most important thing in his life was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons Jeffrey (Jill) Biltz of Wellington, Joseph (Sue Muller) Biltz of Avon and Gerald J. Jr. (Wendy) Biltz of Sheffield Lake; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Robert Biltz of North Olmsted; sister Kathleen Rodgers of Sheffield Lake; many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Elaine (nee Witbeck); parents Robert and Bertha (nee Toll) Biltz; sister Bernice Biltz; brother-in-law James Rodgers; sister-in-law Maryann Biltz.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral Service Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Jerry’s daughter in-law Jill Biltz will officiate. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Jerry’s name to the Ames Family Hospice, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145
