George Stroud's Obituary
George Franklin Stroud, age 78 of North Ridgeville, died Wednesday at the North Ridge Health Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Windber, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 38 years moving from East Cleveland.
Mr. Stroud served in the Philippines as a radioman in the US Navy during WWII.
He worked as a parts expediter for Otis Elevator Company in Cleveland for 25 years retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Calvary Ridge Church of the Nazarene, North Ridgeville where he sang in the church choir and a former member of Fields United Methodist Church, North Ridgeville.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening , traveling and learning foreign languages.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Charlotte (nee Malkin); son, George T. o f North Ridgeville; daughters, Dorie (Richard) Schultz of Richfield, Barbara Langford of Parma; brother, Paul of Parma; sister Marjorie Chaney of Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren Elizabeth and Gregory Schultz, Christopher, Benjamin and Joseph Langford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Audrey (nee Benner) Stroud; sister June Hrabak and brother, Donald.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00AM at Calvary Ridge Church of The Nazarene 34881 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. David Woods, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Whitehaven Park Cemetery, Mayfield Village.
