George H Haverl's Obituary
George H. Haverl, age 92, of North Ridgeville passed away Thursday January 31, 2019 at North Ridge Health Center, North Ridgeville.
He was born in Ellwood City, PA and had resided in The Northridge Independent Living since 2016. He had previously lived in North Olmsted and Baltimore.
George retired from the US Navy in 1964 after 20 years, then went on to work as a truck mechanic for BP retiring in 1985.
He was a former member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, North Olmsted and was a Life Member of VFW Post 9871, North Ridgeville.
George enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his nephews Charles (Edith) Depp of Medina, George (Kathy) Depp of Parma, nieces Ruth (Ignatius) Bratek of Brookpark, and Mary (Donald) Shepard of Port Charlotte, FL and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Blanche in 2001, his loving companion Nancy Willrich, his parents, Fred and Margaret Haverl, sisters Emma Haverl and Helen Depp and brother Fred Haverl.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Tuesday at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where a funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday. Rev. Robin Craig, Interim Pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial with full military honors will take place 12:30 PM Wednesday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
