George Covey's Obituary
George W. Covey, 83 of North Ridgeville, died Wednesday December 31, 2008 at St. John Westshore Hospital, Westlake following a long illness.
Mr. Covey moved to the area in 1962 from Pulaski, VA. He retired from Harshaw Chemical Co., Elyria in 1988 following twenty-five years of service as a process engineer. He was a Veteran of the US Army. He was a former member of the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871, former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, DAV life member and enjoyed woodworking.
George is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Sylvia (nee Newman); son, Jerry of North Ridgeville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbur, William Jr. and Arnold Covey and sister, Mildred Newman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Nora Covey; daughter, Vickie Taylor; sisters, Ruby Hurst and Joyce Shinault and brother, Marion Covey.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00PM until the time of service at 1:00PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Stephen Carter, pastor of North Eaton Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be private.
