Genevieve Huey's Obituary
Genevieve S. "Gen" Huey (nee Soltis), age 85, of Olmsted Twp., Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Olmsted Twp. for the past year moving from the state of Delaware.
She was the owner and operator of Huey's Beauty Salon in East Petersburg, Pennsylvania for 15 years.
Genevieve was an active member of St. Clarence Catholic Church, North Olmsted and the Women's Auxiliary of Nautical Sounds Barbershop Quartet in Bethany Beach, Delaware that her husband sang in.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, especially flowers.
Survivors include her daughters, Sarah Huey and Catherine (James) Sanzi both of Olmsted Twp.; grandchildren, Genevieve Whitmore, Jamie Sanzi, Charles Huey, Tomas Sanchez; great grandchildren, Matthew Tagliareni and Katrina Whitmore; brother, Sheldon Joseph Soltis of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charles; daughter, Charlene Huey; sisters, Dorothy Rampola, Hilda Markey; parents, Andrew and Martha Soltis.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00AM at St. Clarence Catholic Church, 30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted. Rev. Michael Ausperk will be the celebrant.
