It's been along time.
Sorry to hear about Gene as I was not at the store when he would come in as he would talk to Mark & Jeff.
I always enjoyed working with Gene , I can still see his laugh & smile after all these years.
Our condolences to the family. My father ( Chuck Stuart) hired Gene on the N.R. Police force. He thought Gene was a good guy. My husband, Larry Gilliam , rode with Gene as an auxillary policeman. They got along great. Gene was a great cop. A real decent guy.

My heart goes out to the Newman Family. Gene was a easy going man with love in his heart. Strong handshake and a beautiful smile. Gene was born in the same town, ( Republic, PA ) as I was. We were his neighbors in N.R. and I never knew that. God bless and our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

My parents Jim and Elizabeth knew Gene and his family for many years, they met at the Nazarene church in North Ridgeville. I remember Gene as a happy go lucky man. Very nice..I remember as a teenager how cool to personally know a police officer! Gene and my mom are in heaven: catching up on old times!

Gene was a friend, He always kept me laughing. He will be missed.
I WORKED WITH GENE AT THE FEDERAL COURT HOUSE, WE BECAME THE BEST OF FRIENDS. WE REALLY ENJOYED WORKING TOGETHER, WHEN I WORKED WITH GENE TIME WENT SO MUCH FASTER. WE BOTH SHARED A LOVE OF OLD CARS. WHEN GENE GOT HIS BLACK VETTE, HE CAME ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE EAST SIDE TO SHOW ME AND GIVE ME A RIDE IN IT, ALL THE WAY TO PENNA TO A CAR AUCTION.
MY HEARTFELT SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO HIS FAMILY, WHICH HE LOVED DEARLY. I FEEL VERY FORTUNATE THAT I GO TO KNOW GENE AND TO CONSIDER HIM A VERY GOOD FRIEND.
