Gary W. Bierly's Obituary
Gary W. Bierly, age 84, of North Ridgeville passed away Friday January 9, 2026 at Kemper House, Strongsville.
Born in Fremont, Ohio on December 16, 1941, he graduated from Ross High School in 1959. He had resided in North Ridgeville for the past 24 years. He had previously lived in Elyria, Tiffin, and Pemberville, OH.
Gary earned his undergraduate and master’s degree from Bowling Green State University.
A teacher by trade, Gary, was employed at Eastwood Local Schools in Pemberville, Tiffin City Schools and Sheffield/Sheffield Lake School Systems as a Teacher, Athletic Director, Coach and Business Manager retiring in 2005 after 34 years. He was a member of Lorain County Athletic Directors Assoc. He was active with Ridgefield HOA serving as an officer and on the Pool Committee.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife Judy, had a passion for coaching baseball, and having his family all together.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Elyria where he served as an usher and sang in the choir.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Judy (nee Bowe), sons Jeffrey (Erin) of Dimondale, MI, Michael (Tania) of W. Chicago, IL, son-in-law Larry Rotuno of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Michaela (Cecil) Caballero, Nathanael Bierly and Adrianna Rotuno, and his sister Kathleen Brooks of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Annette Rotuno, father Wayne Bierly, mother Eugenia and stepfather Ralph Schreiner.
The family will receive friends Monday January 19, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville and Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 9685 E. River Road, Elyria. Pastor Robert Weldon will officiate. Burial will follow in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
