Fred L. Searles, age 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away June 4, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nelsonville and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for nearly 50 years. Mr. Searle Read Obituary

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I regret I did not spend more time with Uncle Fred. My father loved him very very much and I hope that the three brothers, Uncle Harry, Uncle Fred, and Gerald are together again. Peace and love be with you all.
When my dad died, it was Fred and Connie that opened their home to me in both Charleston, South Carolina and Cleveland, Ohio. They orchestrated my meeting a soldier named George and staged our wedding 58 years ago at the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene. We owe our whole family of three sons (Steve, Marlon and Brian) and our nine grandchildren to your generosity and care. We love you Connie and pray that God will be with you through these days of adjustment.

The first time I met Fred was in his living room. I was there to pick up Mary for a blind date. Fred pounded on the wall to speed Mary up. At first I wasn't sure he was speeding her up so he could get rid of me quickly or he thought I was a keeper. I guess I was a keeper, been Fred favorite son-in-law for 35 years. Every Easter they had a family camp out with Mary's aunts and uncle at Old Man Cave. I remember being tease by Fred for not asking him for her hand. Fred and I been fishing together in three states. One time I ran out of gas 10 miles from a gas station on one of these trips. I went in to one of my panic act and Fred calmly pointed out I had all kind of gas in the boat. Probably never would of remember the gas in the boat without him. He was my race partner visiting the local race track many times on a nice summer night. We survive a Tornado on a trip to Michigan, The cabin was heavy damage and we drove 20 miles to find a motel that had power. Fred took us to the only place to eat in this small town. The sign said today special was all the meatloaf you can eat. We order the special and took our's first bite. One bite was all you wanted to eat of that meatloaf. It was a joke between us for year when we eat out. I believe we never orders meatloaf again.
He saved me several times from going out in the middle of the night to pick up Mary when her car froze up at work. I could tell he enjoyed going out to pick her up in a snowstorm.
When something broke down in the house he came straight over and fixed it for me. He was alway ready to help us in our's needs.
Fred will be missed by everyone and me. With his passing a little bit of me died to. I lucky to had a Father-In-Law like him. At least I got all the great memory to fall back on. RIP Fred

Dear Aunt Connie and Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of Uncle Fred. He will be greatly missed. I know how excited my mom (Patricia Leckrone), Aunt Shirley, and Aunt Gloria would look forward to making their trips up to visit with the you and would always come home with wonderful stories to tell us. Please know that my family is sending their love and prayers.

over the past month I have had many inquires about my father’s health and recovery progress. Each concern was heartfelt and made me feel better about my Dad, as so many friends were interested in his struggle to recover from heart surgery. Fred passed on to a better, peaceful place. My family deeply appreciates your thoughts, and prayers.
I have many happy memories of my dad spending time with me, fishing, playing ball, camping, and making sure he took the family to church each week. His actions and love ingrained in me that it’s not what you take from life but what you leave behind. Happy times with my Dad, and We know he has found peace.
