Fred Groflo's Obituary
Fred Groflo age 61 of Columbia Station passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 8, 2010 at St. John Westshore Hospital, Westlake. He was born January 21, 1948 in Uniontown, PA and had been a resident of Columbia Station for 50 years having moved from Martin, PA. He was employed as a machine tester for Avtron Corp. in Independence for the past two years and had formerly worked at Van Dorn-Demag in Strongsville for some 35 years. Fred was a U.S. Navy veteran and had served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Columbia Station and was a member of the North Ridgeville American Legion and a Life member of Columbia Station V.F.W. Post 9340. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Vicky (nee Wehe), daughters, Michelle Chrosniak of Columbia Station, Tracy (Bob) Mantz of Medina, Kelly (Craig) Contini of Kent and Amber Kazmierczak of Avon Lake, 8 grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Chrosniak, Gina, Hayley and Joseph Waite, Gabriela and Nicholas Contini and Jasmine Kazmierczak, his mother, Mary Groflo of Columbia Station and a brother, David Groflo of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Groflo in 2004. Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. Monday, January 11, 2010 in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Funeral Mass 10 A.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Columbia Station. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Burial will follow in Royalton Road Cemetery. VFW Post 9340 will conduct full military honors at the cemetery.
