Fred "Frank" Sabo Jr.'s Obituary
Fred “Frank” Sabo, age 87, of Elyria, passed away peacefully Friday, January 13, 2023, at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. He was born in Bentleyville, PA and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 69 years. He was a proud member of the US Marines. He worked as a Clerk for the Railroad before retiring in 2000. He was a member of Elyria Friends Evangelical Church. Frank enjoyed playing guitar, the harmonica, and piano. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Janet; sons Joseph “Mark” (Cynthia) Sabo of Continental, OH, Jon (Kathleen) Sabo of Elyria; daughter Teri (Jeffery) Whalen of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren Rachel, Rebecca, Melody, Nikki, Nathan, Justin, Heather, Holly, Jesse, Caleb; 14 great grandchildren; brothers Pete, Paul, Ron, Norman, Dennis; many nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Sabo Sr, Violet; great grand daughter Olivia; brother Raymond; brother-in-law James Riffle; nephew Sean; sister-in-law Gloria (Ken) Dahl. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville and Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am at Elyria Friends Evangelical Church, 9300 West Ridge Rd, Elyria. Joseph “Mark” Sabo will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Avon with military honors.
