Fred M. Brand IV's Obituary
Fred Mitchell Brand IV, age 56, of Vermilion, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 24, 2014 at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born on September 24, 1957 in Kent, England and has lived in Vermilion for the past 30 years, moving from North Ridgeville.
Fred enjoyed vacations at Kure and Carolina beaches, meeting with his friends at Ziggy’s in Amherst, and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, often attending games at the stadium. In years past, he was an avid men’s league basketball player. What he loved most though, was being a Poppa to his grandchildren, a loving father, son and husband. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Venetia (nee Gordon); daughter’s Jamie (Nick) Radel of Bradner, OH and Melissa (Chris) East of Spanishburg, WV; son Travis Brand of Lorain; grandchildren Alex, Zoey, Brandon, Alyssa and Tate; mother Lois (nee Heyworth) Brand; furry children Maximus, Bella and Rusty Roo.
He was preceded in death by his father Fred Brand III and joined his faithful companions Felix and Sasha on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home on 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville on Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service in the funeral home. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or the American Heart Assn., P.O. Box 15125, Chicago, IL 60693.
