Franklin Mercure's Obituary
Franklin J. Mercure, 79 of North Ridgeville, died suddenly Sunday October 9, 2005 at his residence.
He was born July 24, 1926 in Rowlesburg, WV. He also lived in Tunnelton, WV and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 48 years.
Mr. Mercure was a Veteran of the US Marines who was stationed in Hawaii during WWII.
He was a life member of VFW Post 9871 and a member of Building Laborer's Local 310.
He retired in 1988 after working 35 years as a Laborer for Donley's construction in Cleveland.
Surviving are three daughters, Cathern Fink of Elyria, Teresa Rector of Crossville, TN, and Norma Linden of North Ridgeville; two sons Larry of North Ridgeville, and Danny of Roy, UT; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Winifred Shahan of Akron, and Elaine Mack of Cuyahoga Falls.
He was preceded in death by wife Ruby (nee Zetty) in 2002; parents, Michael and Rose Mercure (nee Grimes); two daughters, Brenda Welburn and Julia Patterson; four brothers, James, Orlando, Michael and Benson; and three sisters, Julia Huffman, Dahlena Shahan and Rachel Shannon.
Friends will be received at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The VFW post 9871 will stand guard from 7- 7:30PM with services taking place at 7:30PM.
Further visitation and service will be held at Lobb Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street Kingwood, West Virginia 26537-1459.
Interment will follow in the Mount View Cemetery, Kingwood,WV.
