Frank A. Smirz's Obituary
Frank A. Smirz, age 50, of Austintown Township, passed away Monday January 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital, Warren following a short illness.
Born in Elyria, he grew up in North Ridgeville, then lived in Lorain before moving to Austintown in 2015.
Frank worked as a locomotive engineer for Norfolk Southern for the past 23 years.
He enjoyed his time at home, teaching responsibility to his children, watching the Cleveland Browns and OSU Football, gaming on X Box, a firearms enthusiast, reading and fixing just about anything.
Survivors include his wife Jennifer (nee Diederich), children Nicholas (Courtney) Smirz of Brookpark, Theresa Smirz of Avon and Noah Smirz of Avon, step children Daniel, Charles and Anna Burgess of Austintown, 2 year old Grandson Lawrence, parents, Dale and Barbara Smirz of North Ridgeville, siblings Cheryl (Joseph) Horency, Scott (Laura) Smirz and Carole (Blain) Amburgey and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Friday (Masks Required) Jan. 21, 2022 at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held Saturday at 12:30 pm followed by 1PM Mass at St. Peter Church 35777 Center Ridge Rd. Rev. Joe Robinson will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
