Frank Shaffer's Obituary
Frank J. Shaffer, age 71, of North Ridgeville, passed away after a brief illness Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Lutheran Home, Westlake.
Born in South Fork, Pennsylvania he was a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 12 years moving from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Frank served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a Detective with the Cleveland Police Department, retiring in 1989.
After his retirement, Frank worked with the U.S. Marshall's Service for many years.
He enjoyed fishing and golfing, but found his greatest enjoyment spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Mark of Marysville; daughter, Kim (Tim) Blair of Elyria; grandchildren, Madison and Casey Blair and Hayden and Owen Shaffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Shaffer.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 31 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Charles Diedrick will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park, Avon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
