Frances Nowakowski's Obituary
Frances M. Nowakowski (nee Sazma) age 81 of North Ridgeville passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at St. John Westshore Hospital, Westlake after battling a number of illnesses. She was born October 3, 1927 in Chicago, IL and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 41 years. She and her husband were the first residents of Mills Creek Homes in North Ridgeville. She was also a charter member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, North Ridgeville. She had worked as a waitress at Eddy's Chalet West for 18 years retiring in 1988. Frances formed a neighborhood "Bunco Club" which lasted more than 10 years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, meeting with lady friends for "coffee clutches" and traveling to South Carolina and Chicago to visit family members. Frances is survived by her husband of 60 years, Louis, 2 sons, Robert (Debra) Nowakowski of Sumter, SC and David Nowakowski of North Ridgeville, 3 granddaughters, Maria (Jurgeon) Pohl, Robin (Adrian) Bradley and Jessica Nowakowski all of SC, 2 great grandsons, Michael and Hunter and a sister, Catherine (Leo) Zelvis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Frank Sazma and by a sister, Dorothy Walters. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be conducted at 9:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home followed by a 10 A.M. funeral mass at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Dr. Richard Gonser will be the celebrant. Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
