Floyd H. Piatt Jr.'s Obituary
Floyd H. “Sonny” Piatt Jr., age 73, of Elyria, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, Ohio and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 43 years after moving from Lorain. He worked as a quality control engineer for MTD for over 30 years, before retiring in 2015. He was an active member of Christ Chapel in North Ridgeville. He enjoyed reading, board games, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Gladys (nee Bolles), daughters Kelly (David) Mencke of Elyria and Mary (Terry) Toth of Grafton, son Timothy Piatt of Elyria, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brother Billy Piatt of Avon, and sisters Judy Pelfrey of Tennessee and Dorothy Thomas of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents Anna Mae and Floyd H. “Butch” Piatt Sr.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and Friday 10am-11am. The service and burial will be private. Rev Deena Williams will officiate. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, face covering, and proper social distancing will be required at all times.
