Fern Weiss' Obituary
Fern M. Weiss (nee Bohland), 87, of Avon, died April 10, 2008 at the Center Ridge Nursing Home, North Ridgeville following a short illness.
Mrs. Weiss was born on February 16, 1921 in Westlake. She became a resident of Avon from 1942 until moving to Florida in 1980 following her retirement of twenty years as a beautician at Bay Beauty Shop. She then moved back locally in 2001.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church, and the Holy Trinity Church Guild, Avon. She enjoyed playing golf, had a passion for sewing, often tailoring clothes for herself and other family members and most recently, became known for her unique and innovative chicken pot holders.
Surviving is three daughters, Carol Fairchild (Dick), of Elyria, Bonnie Krall ( Joseph), of Elyria and Deborah Weiss, of Boynton Beach, FL; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Bohland, of Flatrock, MI . She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1999; grandchild, Stephen Fairchild in 1985, parents, Leo and Eunice Bohland (nee Moorman); brother, Leo Bohland, Jr. and two sisters, Doris Rusno and Evelyn Osmann.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where services will be held at 5:30 P.M.. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnel, FL.
