My heart was sadden this morning when I read that Eugene passed away. We always teased each other and had lots of laughs I will miss those times.Eleanor, my deepest sympathy to you dear,67 years is a long time to be with someone. I know you will miss him terribly. May God give you the grace and strength you will need at this very difficult time. Linda and Diane I know your loss and pain in losing a dad. My prayers and thoughts are with you both. You both were beside your dad to the end and I know he felt your love and concern you showed him. I know you will be there for your mother in this difficult time.

I met The Edmond's family in my early thirties. In midlife, you usually do not hear much about grand parents. Throughout the 9 years that I have known The Edmond's, I have heard many, many adoring stories! This man was not your typical grandfather...he LIVED! He was full of fight and energy and his age did not wear him down!
Of course,many of us have heard very funny stories about this man. However my favorite are the ones reflecting his dedication to his family. Even as he was in the hospital, he fought to celebrate his wedding anniversary. NOTHING would stop him from telling his wife, "I love you". Not doctor's, nurses or his health. I literally teared up, I was so touched by this story!
Although physically he will be missed, his spirit will stay very much alive! His whole family was by his side during his last hours. The dedication and love of this beautiful family is inspiring! His beautiful spirit will always be kept alive through them.
