Eugene T. Farley's Obituary
Eugene T. Farley, age 79, of Grafton, went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2016 at the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a sudden illness.
He was born on August 10, 1937 in Hinton, WV and has been a resident of Grafton for the past 53 years. He worked as a machine setter for the Brook Park Ford Motor Company for 41 years, retiring in 1996. Eugene was a longtime member of the North Eaton Baptist Church where he was very active and served as a Head Deacon, Sunday School teacher and Trustee.
Eugene was always busy with projects around the house, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing with his Ipad. He was passionate about playing horseshoes and traveled extensively with his hobby of fishing, but there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth (nee Gill); children Don (Tacy) Farley of Sullivan, Susan (Christopher) Pavall of Grafton, Tom (Dawn) Farley of Wakeman, Tim (Rachel) Farley of Allegan, MI and Rebecca (Dave) Johnson of Grafton; 26 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren with 2 more great grandchildren due in February and May, 2017; brothers Raymond, Norman (Barbara), Stanley (Betty) and Wayne (Tammy Scales) Farley; sisters Martha (Jack) Bennett and Margaret (John) Ryan; many nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Otho Morris and Ethel (nee Williams) Farley; brothers Joe, Clifford and Robert Farley; sisters Mary Marshall and Linda Buckland.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, on Wednesday 5-8 p.m. and at the North Eaton Baptist Church, 12109 S. Reed Rd, Grafton, on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of an 11:00 a.m. service. Pastor Stephen Carter will be officiating. Interment will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Eaton Baptist Church.
