Ernest Vittori's Obituary
Ernest E. Vittori, age 86 of North Ridgeville, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at his home following a long illness.
He was born July 25, 1920 in Fairport, OH. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 59 years.
He graduated from St. Clairsville High School where he was a member of the Cross Country Team winning the State Championship.
During WW II he served as a pilot in the First Civil Air Patrol.
He worked as a Coal Miner in Southern Ohio before taking a job as a machinist with Barth Industries in Brookpark, where he worked 22 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of IAM Local 1825.
He was a founding member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church. He was a former member of St. Peter Church, where he served as treasurer of the PTA and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed participating in Parish fund-raisers at both churches.
Mr. Vittori was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan and enjoyed, camping, flying and gardening. He won a 1st place Blue Ribbon at the Lorain County Fair for his Spanish Garlic this past summer.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Helen Jane (nee Kolodziej), two sons, William and Len M.(Ruth) Vittori, three daughters, Barbara A. Price (Kermit E. ), Catherine J. Wittenbrook (Ralph R.), and Theresa L. Vittori-Roessler ( Al) all of Elyria; daughter -in -law, Mary M. Vittori of Elyria; sixteen grandchildren, William J. Vittori, Stephanie M. Vittori-Elias, Jason Michael Vittori, Duane Christopher Denn, Laura Denn Layne, Anthony Michael Denn, Michael Allen Reisinger, Matthew Sean Reisinger, Kevin Paul Reisinger, Katie Helen Wittenbrook, Erin Michelle Vittori, Lynn Marie Vittori, Adrienne Nicole Vittori , Andrew Ernest Vittori, Elizabeth Ruth Vittori, and April Marie Roessler; fifteen great grand children, David Loyer, Emily Loyer, Alisha Vittori, Lidia Vittori, Jeffrey Vittori, Erica Vittori, Elijah Matthew Vittori, Brandon Layne, Ashley Layne, Jessica Layne, Joshua Layne, Logan Denn, Chase Reisinger, Camden Reisinger, and Addison Reisinger; and his Sister Rose Ruffini of Lincoln Park, MI, and Uncle Rusty the dog.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest G. "Jerry" Vittori in 1998; Parents, Luigi and Guiseppinia Vittori, two grandchildren, Marie Catherine Reisinger, and Chad Douglas Roessler, four brothers, Lawrence, Leo, Ross and William Vittori, and three infant sisters, Louise, Luella and Luanna Vittori.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9, Friday, December 8 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held 10:15 AM Saturday follow by 11 AM Mass at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church. Rev. Dr. Richard A. Gonser, Pastor will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow in the St. Peter's Cemetery, North Ridgeville, Ohio.
