Ernest R Cook's Obituary
Ernest R. Cook, age 67, of North Ridgeville, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at his home, following a long illness.
He was born in Portsmouth and had been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville.
Ernest worked as a paint contractor for Bob Schmidt Homes for many years, retiring in 2007.
He enjoyed stock car racing, golfing, playing BINGO and cards.
He also was a country music fan who was very outgoing and spent every morning at Becker’s Doughnuts. He also liked to eat at the City Diner. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of over 49 years, Mary (nee Bolin); children, Julie (Tom) Hale and Steve Cook, both of Elyria, Deidre (Sam Nazelrod) Krueck of Lorain, Raymond Cook of Cleveland;; grandchildren, Joseph (Tabitha), Matt, Katie (J.D.), Mike, Steven, Chelsea, Kaitlyn and Jake; great-grandchildren, Ephraim and Mirabelle; brother, Clayton (Elaine) Cook of Grafton; several loving aunts, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Birdie (nee Cooper); sisters, Clara Ray, Anna Mae Mathes; brother, Donald Cook; niece, April Cook.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Rev. Stephen Carter, Pastor of North Eaton Baptist, will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
