Elmer Scott's Obituary
Elmer E. Scott, age 73, of Sheffield Village, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Marietta, he had been a resident of Sheffield Village for the past 35 years.
Mr. Scott served in the United State Army as a Sergeant 1st Class, during the Korean War.
He worked as a top salesman for Mike Bass Ford for 19 years, where he was recognized as the number one salesman in the region for 10 years and ranked in the top five nationwide since 1992. He previously co-owned and managed E. J. Plott Real Estate Offices in Lorain, Medina, Sandusky and Huron counties. In the 1960's he operated Scotts Barber Shops in Lorain and Elyria. He also was as a councilman for the Village of Sheffield/Sheffield Lake for 20 years retiring in 2005. He and his wife recently opened the Ye Olde Village Kountry Store in Sheffield Village.
He was past president of Sheffield/Sheffield Lake Chamber of Commerce (5 years), member of Twin Cities Kiwanis Club (20 years), president of Twin Cities Kiwanis Club (3 years), president of Sheffield/Sheffield Lake School Endowment (13 years), Board of Directors of Lorain Chamber (3 years), Lorain County Auxiliary Deputy (3 years), past president of Lorain City Club, past president of Ambassador Club of Lorain and a former member of AMVETS Post 55, Sheffield Lake. He enjoyed cooking and barbequing.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette (nee Clark); sons, Marshall Wayne Scott of Rittman, Ohio Eric E. Scott of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Todd M. Scott of Woodbury, Minnesota; stepdaughter, Brooke Marie Stevens of Sheffield Village; stepson, Wesley P. Stevens of Pompano Beach, Florida; three grandchildren; brothers, Walter Scott of Tampa, Florida, John Scott of Oberlin; sisters, Juanita Hall and Eloise Hall both of Whipple, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Golda Scott.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where services will be held on Monday at 11:00AM. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery, Sheffield Village. The North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors at the grave side.
