Elizabeth A. Raines' Obituary
Elizabeth A. Raines (née Walker), age 87, of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at her home.
She was born on September 26, 1938, in Crickmer, West Virginia and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 10 years, moving from Grafton, Ohio and Peterstown, West Virginia. Elizabeth worked as a CNA at nursing homes for many years.
Elizabeth was a devoted fan of all Cleveland sports teams and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer them on. She especially enjoyed attending high school football games in Peterstown, West Virginia. Elizabeth and her husband, Bob, also shared a love of travel and adventure, often taking road trips together and creating cherished memories along the way.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons Toney (Cheryl) French of Lorain and Timothy (Joni) French of Tennessee; daughter Connie Ratcliff of Elyria; stepdaughters Mary Basham and Julia Lus; stepson James Raines Jr.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Peggy Major of Michigan and Brenda (Glenn) Vallandingham of West Virginia; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years James “Bobby” Raines; parents Beatrice (née Fox) and Basil Walker; brother-in-law Darwin Major.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be announced in the near future.
