Elizabeth Costello's Obituary
Elizabeth G. Costello (nee Black), age 85, of Lorain passed away Thursday at her home following a long illness.
She was born December 23, 1920 in Stuartburn, Canada. She had resided most of her life in Lorain. Mrs. Costello received her nursing certificate from St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain where she worked as a registered nurse for several years. She also volunteered at Shields Nursing Clinic in Lorain. She was a member of Harborview Women's Club in Lorain, VFW Post 451 Ladies Aux., Lorain and the I.A.V. Post 1, Lorain.
She enjoyed reading mystery novels, gardening, bowling, dancing and playing bridge.
Surviving are 3 Daughters, Barbara Foley of Vermilion, Roz Oliver of Des Moines, Iowa, Patra Bane of Grafton, 3 Sons, Larry Bacher Des Monies, Iowa, Greg Bacher of Vermilion, Philip Costello Jr of Elyria; 13 Grandchildren, Several great-grandchildren; Brother, Paul Black of New Port Richey, Florida; and 2 Sisters, Dorothy Vandersommen of Mansfield and Helen Kaszar of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip in 2003, parents, Frank and Bessie Black; and sister Kathryn Dore.
Friends will be received from 12 Noon Tuesday until time of services at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memory Gardens Freedom Chapel 3700 Center Road Avon. Pastor Boyd M. Bane of Clyde Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
