Elaine Marie Mocker's Obituary
Elaine Marie Mocker, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at her home. Elaine was born in Youngstown, Ohio on October 5, 1961, and had been a resident of the greater Cleveland area for the past 25 years most recently in North Ridgeville. She was raised in Canfield, OH (Ellsworth Township) graduating from Western Reserve High School, class of 1980 where she was active as a cheerleader and many other sports and scholastic activities. Elaine graduated with a degree in Education from Youngstown State University and began a long and rewarding teaching career in 1985 at the Lads N ’Lasses Academy, Holy Family in Poland, OH and continued teaching in the Cleveland area at Hope Academy until her retirement in 2013. Elaine had a special love of teaching and working with children.
She also enjoyed art, poetry, painting, traveling, and cooking. She was a member of the Gourmet Girls, the New Westsiders and enjoyed the Lake Erie and the Miller Nature Preserve walking trails. She enjoyed going to music concerts at many of Cleveland’s parks, especially Miller. She was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians. Elaine enjoyed her network of friends in the Cleveland area, hosting luncheons and cooking for friends.
Survivors include her siblings, John Mocker, Jr of Union, Kentucky, Jim (Lorel) Mocker of Wisconsin, Mary (Dave) Siskowic of Canfield, nieces, and nephews Dan (Shezy) Siskowic, Jamie Mocker (Danny), Jack Mocker, Joel Mocker, Katie (Matt) Veneskey, great nieces Presli, Maelin and Cami, Aunt Theresa (Markota) Check, and many cousins and friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, John A. (Jack) Sr. and Helen (nee Markota) Mocker.
The family invites you to a Celebration of Life Visitation and Buffet Luncheon in Elaine’s memory on Sunday February 18, 2024 from 1PM to 4PM with a prayer service beginning at 1 pm, at the Bogner Family Funeral Home Celebration of Life Center, 7295 Greenlawn Dr. North Ridgeville, OH 44039. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Elaine’s memory can be made to the Lorain County Metro Parks, 12882 Diagonal Road, LaGrange, OH 44050.
