Elaine C. Cornish's Obituary
Elaine C. Cornish (nee Hopkins), age 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Specialty Hospital in Amherst, following a brief illness.
She was born in Elyria and had been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville.
Elaine was a lifelong member of St. Peter Church in North Ridgeville and was past president of the North Ridgeville Band Boosters and spearheaded the effort to get new uniforms for the band. She was also a member of the North Ridgeville Women’s League.
She was an avid camper along with her husband and enjoyed going to their cabin in Pennsylvania. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening and taking care of her flowers.
Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (John) Lear of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Greg (Jennifer) Lear of Elyria, Tom (Stephanie Bennett) Lear of Avon Lake, Jennifer (Joseph) Schrickel of Perrysburg; great-grandchildren, Brett, Emily, Madison, Allison and Charlie Lear and AJ Schrickel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; parents, Lewis and Gertrude (nee Ternes) Hopkins; brother, Glenn Hopkins and sister, Barbara Dennis.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center ridge Rd., where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:30AM followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Peter church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
