Timothy Bishop
Laughter is what I remember most. A joyful welcoming smile was characteristic of Aunt Ei. She did good things in a big way. Food is often used as a sign of love and fellowship. Her stuffed cabbage and cheesecake tasted of that love and were spiced with that fellowship. We’ll taste those things again because she shared that recipe for laughter and love with all of us. We will continue to share that fellowship with each other. We will still gather and laugh and celebrate with one another. And one day, we will again gather and laugh and celebrate with her in eternity.
Aunt Eileen was my Godmother. She was a good example of both the words that make up that title. It’s easy to laugh in the good times. However, she brought the light of her laughter with her into some of the darker times and helped to make them much brighter than they could have been. I will always remember her joy, kindness, and strength. She was quick to smile, quick to give of herself, and quick to have the courage to speak out when that was necessary. Eternal rest grant onto her, oh Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in peace.
We are blessed to have known and loved her and to have been loved by her in return.
