Edythe Benton's Obituary
Edythe V. Benton (nee Buell), age 87, of North Ridgeville died on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain; following a short illness.
She was born in Alexandria, VA and moved to Lorain county in 1929. She had lived in North Ridgeville since1969.
Mrs. Benton was a 1939 graduate of Amherst High School. She was a member The Cross Community Church, formerly First Assembly of God, since 1940.
She enjoyed cooking, baking; especially wedding cakes, crocheting, sewing, canning, oil painting and traveling.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Leonard C. Benton; daughter, Barbara Gemmell, of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Thomas L., of Apopka, FL, Daniel G., of Columbia Station and James R., of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Breidenbach and Nancy Raidl, both of Grand Junction, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren H. And Nancy Ellen (nee Whitlock) Buell, brothers Thomas and Charles Buell and one sister Edna Chester.
Friends will be received from 7-9 PM Friday at David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Friends may also call Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 12 noon at The Cross Community Church 525 Abbe Road, Elyria. Reverend Roger Loomis, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
