Edward Lukas' Obituary
Edward Lukas Abt, age 63, of North Ridgeville, died at Amherst Hospital, Amherst; following a sudden illness.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1977; having moved from North Olmsted. Mr. Abt served in the United States Marine Corp for four years.
Mr. Abt worked as a purchasing manager for the Hinkley Lighting Company, Cleveland.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Life Church, North Ridgeville; where he had served as a council member.
He was a loving grandfather who adored his grandchildren.
He enjoyed reading, exercising and walking his dog.
He worked as a volunteer for the Oasis Animal Shelter, Oberlin.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sharon (nee Philpot) Abt; son Vincent (Carolyn) Abt, of LaGrange; grandsons, Connor and Nathaniel Abt; brothers, Dale Abt, of North Olmsted and Raymond (Mary) Abt, of Chagrin Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Vera (nee Levec) Abt.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9Pm at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jamie Howell, of the Cathedral of Life Church, North Ridgeville, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
