Edward "Marti" Garrow's Obituary
Captain Edward M. “Marti” Garrow of the North Ridgeville Police Department, age 52, of Columbia Station, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.
He was born in Dayton and had been a resident of Columbia Station since 1975.
Marti became a member of the North Ridgeville Police Department in 1989. He graduated from the Ohio State Patrol 72nd Basic Peace Officer Academy in 1990 and was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2011. In 2005, he attended and graduated from the 223rd Session of the prestigious FBI National Academy. His assignments included Supervising the Detective Bureau and was an Emergency Vehicle Driving Instructor. He was the recipient of several awards throughout his career including Meritorious Service Awards.
His children were the center of his life and he enjoyed being involved with their activities, founding the Columbia Youth Wrestling Club in 2008 with his wife and it will continue in his memory.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Robin (nee Brock); sons, Shane (Shaina) Garrow, Sean Garrow, Corey Garrow, Hayden Garrow; grandson, Mason Garrow; parents, Bob and JoJo Dunn; sisters, Lynnette Civittolo, Yolanda Dunn, Rhonda Dunn ; brothers, Robert (Michelle) Garrow and Michael (Michelle) Dunn.
Friends may call Saturday from 5-9PM and Sunday from 2-7PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Monday at 10AM in the funeral home. Rev. David Swartz will officiate.
Burial will be at Royalton Road Cemetery, Columbia Station.
Memorials are suggested to the Garrow Family Memorial Fund at any Fifth/Third Bank Branch.
