Edward H Connolly Jr.'s Obituary
Edward H. Connolly Jr., age 96, of North Ridgeville, passed away at Ames Family Hospice Center, Westlake on Sunday April 9, 2023.
Born in Jefferson, Ohio he had resided in North Ridgeville the past 62 years after moving from North Olmsted.
Edward served in the US Army Glider Infantry during WW II in the European Theater.
He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville. He enjoyed volunteering his time delivering Meals on Wheels for North Ridgeville Senior Center and was a former member of North Ridgeville Lion Club. He was also a member of Tuscan Masonic Lodge 342 in Jefferson.
Edward retired in 1987 as an inspector from General Motors Parma plant after 37 years. He was a member of UAW local 1005. After retirement he worked at Giant Eagle, N. Ridgeville, just until recently.
Survivors include his three sons, Brant (Donna) of Flowery Branch, GA, Dennis of North Ridgeville and Mark Connolly of Elyria, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 2011, his father Edward in 1974 and his mother Lois in 1997, brothers, Robert, Richard and Dennis Connolly and sisters Dorothy Crow, Jean Hall and Gretta Hunt.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Road Avon. Rev. Chris Nichols, Interim Pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate.
Full military honors will be performed by VFW Post 9871, North Ridgeville.
