Edmund Lis' Obituary
Edmund Lis, age 87, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at his home.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 25 years, moving from Euclid.
He worked as a sales engineer for heavy industrial equipment for Meier Transmission in Cleveland for 25 years, retiring as Vice President in 1991.
Edmund was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in North Ridgeville, where he was active as an adult server and a Eucharistic minister. He was a board member of the North Ridgeville Senior Center and was very proud of his Polish heritage.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling at Brunswick Lanes and classic cars, especially his 1956 Chevy Bellaire.
Survivors include his wife Donna; sons, John ( Jennifer) Lis of Arlington, Virginia, James (Melinda) Lis of Orlando, Florida; step-daughter, Tracy (Doug) Ventling of Altoona, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elsie Lis of Shaker Hts.; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Skolnick; brothers, Joseph, Chester and Walter; sisters, Lauretta, Rose and Marie; parents, John and Antoinette Lis.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6th from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. George Vrabel, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Private burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Julie Billiart Church or North Ridgeville Senior Center, 7327 Avon Belden Rd., North Ridgeville, OH 44039.
