Edith Marie Lovell's Obituary
Edith Marie “Edie” Lovell, nee Chadwick, age 80, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her home.
She was born in Glen Rogers, West Virginia and was a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 60 years moving to LaGrange in 2010.
She served the City of North Ridgeville as a City Council as President, Member-at-Large, and Ward-1 Council Member in 1980-1990’s. While on Council she served on the Utilities Committee, Streets, Sidewalks, & Bridges Committees, Firefighters Dependency Board, Administrative Committee, and Safety Committee.
Organizations she was a member of include: The North Ridgeville Auxiliary Police, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, St. Peter Church, Precinct Committee Person, Lorain County Democratic Social Club, Democratic Woman’s Club, Lo.Co. Federation of Democratic Women, and North Ridgeville Historical Society,
She was awarded The 1990 YWCA Woman of Achievement Award and The 1991 Woman of the year Award.
She enjoyed collecting antiques, dolls and when she was younger enjoyed fishing with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Harold J. Lovell, Daughters Jamey (Robert) Kepic of Avon Lake and Sherry (Ralph) Davis of LaGrange. Sons Albert Smith Jr. of Grantsville, WV and Bobby Smith of Grafton. Her Granddaughter, Mandy Smith. Grandson, Matthew P. Kepic. Great Grandchildren David, Selena, and Brianna. Step-Daughters Jennifer (Charles) Harmon of Wellington, and Melanie (Dennis) Innes, of Wellington. Step-Children, Melissa Zietlow, Jesse Harmon, Aaron Innes. Step-Grandchildren Orian, Ava, Cady, Ethen, and Garrett. Sister, Julia Ann (Mark) Samples of Lewisburg, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edd L. and Eva Lucille Chadwick (nee Stewart), sister, Vicky Lynn Chadwick, step-mother Betty Chadwick, brothers, Charles E., Robert E., James F., Eddie L., Carl R., and Ricky A. Chadwick.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. A Prayer service will be held 9:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home followed by 10 AM Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Andrew Hoover will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
