Edith A. Forrest's Obituary
Edith A. Forrest (nee Swartout), age 91, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at O’Neill Healthcare in Middleburg Heights. She was born February 2, 1935, in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 69 years.
Edith worked as the head cashier at G.C. Murphy and then as a custodian for North Ridgeville City Schools for fourteen years, retiring in 1997. She was a dedicated member of St. Peter Church, and in her free time, enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and ballroom dancing. Edith also loved pouring her creativity and artistic ability into ceramics and flower arranging.
She is survived by her sons Raymond E. (Joni) Forrest of Elyria and Richard (Shannon) Forrest of Lorain, daughters Marian Otto of Elyria and Kathy (Alan) Forrest of North Ridgeville, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Edith is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond J. Forrest, parents Clifford and Clara Swartout, sister Ellen Brollini, grandson Sean Ortiz and great-grand daughter Madison Chapman.
The family will receive friends Tuesday April 21, 2026 from 4-7 PM Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held 12 PM Wednesday followed by 12:30 PM Mass at St. Peter Parish, North Ridgeville. Rev. Robert Franco, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
