Douglas Brown's Obituary
Douglas J. Brown, age 61, of Culleoka, TN, died Tuesday in Culleoka, TN following a long illness.
He was born in Knoxville, TN. He had been a resident of Culleoka, TN the past 2 years. He had also lived in Columbia, TN for 13 years and in Elyria, OH for 16 years.
He served in the US Air Force.
Mr. Brown was a molding machine operator for General Motors; having worked at Fisher Body in Elyria and at the Saturn Plant in Springhill, TN. He retired in February of 2004; after 37 and1/2 years with General Motors.
He was a member of the UAW and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, in Elyria.
He enjoyed bowling, playing the guitar and card playing.
Survivors include his wife Margaret (nee Hill) Brown; sons, Douglas and Jimmy; living in Texas, Charles, of Culleoka, TN and Michael and Wendell, both of Elyria; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth, of Hackett, AK and Raymond, of Sweetwater, TN; sisters, Evelyn Hurst and Frances Lawson, both of Knoxville, TN and Brenda McCray, of North Fairfield, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy (nee Mays) Brown and brothers Clarence "Bud" and Robert.
Friends may call Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 Noon in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Chuck Keesee, pastor of the Midway Baptist Church, Elyria will officiate.
Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
