Dorothy A. Zett's Obituary
Dorothy A. “Dottie” Zett (nee Skrot) of North Ridgeville passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a short illness.
She was born in Apollo, PA before moving to North Ridgeville 43 years ago.
Dottie was a member of St. Peter Church in North Ridgeville. She worked as a medical secretary and lab technician until retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed gardening, going for walks in Bradley Woods, making pierogies, going to garage sales, canning and was a lifelong Steelers fan. Dorothy was a life member of VFW Post 9871, Ladies Aux. and past Sr. Vice President.
Survivors include her husband, James ‘Joe” Zett of North Ridgeville; son, Justin Dean (Crystal Schifler) Flickinger of North Ridgeville; sisters, Helen (Cornell) Kvortex of Ellsworth, PA, Blanche Pityk of Leechburg, PA, Mary Ann Komisky of Tomah, WI, Patricia (Ray) Ausk of Leechburg, PA, Victoria Morlacci of Apollo, PA; brothers, Michael (Gloria) Skrot of East Vandergift, PA, Edward (Nancy) Skrot of Apollo, PA, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Michael Sr. and Anna Skrot, infant son Gregory Flickinger, sister, Eleanor Painter and Brother George Skrot.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 9871 will conduct a memorial service at the VFW Hall on Sunday August 3, 2014 at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of donor’s choice.
