Dorothy J. Riley's Obituary
Dorothy J. Riley (nee Tharp), age 85, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Southwest Residential Hospice in Strongsville. She was born on April 11, 1940, in Akron, and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 63 years, moving from Olmsted Township. Dorothy worked for many years as a bus driver for Lake Ridge Academy before her retirement. In years past she was a league bowler with her husband Bert. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, but nothing brought Dorothy more joy than spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Lori (Cliff) Chilcott of Mulberry, FL; sons Randy Riley and Jeff (Novelyn) Riley, both of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Jennifer (Tim) Hunley, Jessica (Marcus Pruitt) Widener, Cassie Riley, Sara (Bryce) Shuman and Kaylie (Jeremy) Arnold; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bert Forest Riley; parents Dorothy B. (née Haines) and William M. Tharp.
Memorial Service Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.
