Dorothy Myers' Obituary
Dorothy B. Myers (nee Gruss) age 87, of North Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville following a long illness.
She was born in Lakewood and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1988 moving from Iowa. She also had lived in Avon and North Olmsted.
Dorothy worked in sales for Lady Remington Jewelry for 32 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Angela Parish in Fairview Park and was a current member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, North Ridgeville where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was active with the Cursillo group. She was a volunteer with the Society for the Blind, transcribing books into Braille and also with the handicapped at St. Augustine’s and St. Augustine’s soup kitchen from 1996-1998. She enjoyed playing bingo at North Ridgeville Senior Center, where she was also a member. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for Birth Right and the homeless and reading.
Survivors include her daughters, Andrea (Bill) Daw of North Ridgeville, Mary Rose (Robert) Campbell of Westlake, Lora Lee Myers of Wooster; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Joe) Ference of Sevierville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Myers; sons, Dennis R. and Alan Myers; daughter, Barbara Kerchmar; grandson, Dennis Myers Jr.; parents, Andrew and Mary Gruss.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville with a rosary service at 4:30 PM. A prayer service will be held on Monday at 10:30AM in the funeral home followed by a 11:00 AM Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Dr. Richard Gonser, pastor and Rev. Tim Daw of St. Christopher’s will con-celebrate.
