Dorothy Jones' Obituary
Dorothy Alice Jones (nee Leach) 97, departed this life on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Center Ridge Health Care Center, North Ridgeville after a long illness.
She was born October 24, 1911 in Quick, Kanawha County, WV to the late James Nelson II and Nancy Fitzwater Leach. Dorothy was a homemaker and Protestant by faith. She was a wonderful mother of fourteen, and raised three of her grandsons. On July 20, 1927, she was united in marriage to Ralph Samuel Jones, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1966.
Surviving are five sons, French (Ella) of Sandusky, Mark (Freda) of Marysville, OH, Robert of Reedsville, OH, Ralph Jr. of Elyria and Roger of Tampa, FL; three daughters, Emily Schaller Branham of Plainfield, IN, Delores Akers of Elyria, and Ona Schultz of Asher, OK; sister, Thelma Sutherland of Wilmington, OH; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sons, Gregory, William "Bill", John and James "Jack" Jones; two daughters, Audrey Samples Souders, and Judy Lowther, three grandsons, Michael Akers, Melvin Jones and Bruce Jones; granddaughter, Terry Samples; two foster grandsons, Denny and John Kirkpatrick; four brothers, James III, Fermon "Ed", Euell, and Raymond Leach; two sisters, Helen Riggs and Ethel Boner; four half sisters, Alpha Mullins, Myrtle Leach, Missouri Swaney and Estel Rucker and two half brothers, Charles and Lawrence Leach.
Visitation from 6-9PM Wednesday, November 12 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at The River Road Cemetery in LaGrange.
