I'll always remember Dorothy Ann's red hair and freckles. We were neighbors on Orleans Avenue and friends/playmates since young childhood. My twin sister--Mary Ann-- and I spent a lot of time at the Boyd's house, where we were treated like family by her parents. She was the first kid I knew who got an allowance, which she generously shared to buy us milkshakes and the like. Also, Dorothy Ann taught me how to smoke cigarettes -- something that in the late 1950's/early 1960's was a big deal and a very sophisticated thing to do. [I couldn't tolerate unfiltered cigarettes, but when we tried Salem's, I was hooked!!] So, good bye, dear friend ... may you rest now in God's loving care.
